Stagecoach Wickford
Welcome to Stagecoach Wickford! We offer high-quality part-time training in singing, dancing, and acting for ages 4–21. Our fun, friendly classes stretch young imaginations while building confidence, creativity, and communication skills. Based in Wickford and part of the Stagecoach South East Essex group, we run every Saturday during term time. Whether your child is new to performing or ready to shine, we can’t wait to welcome them. Come join the fun!

Early Stages classes give children the opportunity to make new friends and have fun exploring each of the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing and drama, as well as learning key life skills along the way.

Main Stages classes are split in three age-appropriate groups, where children develop skills in the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing and drama. These confidence-boosting classes see children build key life skills we call Creative Courage for Life®.

Our Further Stages give older students the chance to extend their performance skills. Through in-depth training, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting. We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Meet the team
Meet our Principal
Tessa has spent her life in the Performing Arts, directing and performing in musicals and pantomimes across local societies. As a NODA Area Representative and licensed chaperone, she helps create performance opportunities for young people. With experience including the National Youth Music Theatre, Tessa is passionate about helping students build confidence through theatre and is always on hand to support families at Stagecoach.

David Street
Manager – Drama, Dance, Early Stages
David is a professional dancer and actor with over 11 years of experience in… TV, commercials, and theatre. He is an accomplished choreographer and director, with credits including Mack and Mabel, Sweeney Todd, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Former resident choreographer at The New Empire Theatre, David continues to perform and direct across the South East. His award-winning productions are highly regarded by local theatre companies.

Linda Taylor
Manager
Linda has worked as an administrator/Manager in Performing Arts education for some years. She… also still assists in a Primary School by running extra reading classes for the pupils. She has been an amateur performer for most of her adult life and loves being instrumental in helping young people to develop their skills.

Julie Robertson

Julie has been a professional singer since the 1980s, performing a wide range of… musical styles across various venues. From 1998 to 2008, she ran a professional theatre with its own in-house company, directing concerts, musicals, and variety shows. With decades of experience in performance and direction, Julie brings a rich and versatile musical background to her teaching at Stagecoach South East Essex.
