Sophie started performing at the age of 11, started competing at the age of… 12. She was lucky enough to qualify for national competitions 3 years running from age 13 – 16, where she placed 7th in the country. At 16, Sophie went on to train at Northampton College where she furthered her training in dance and received her Level 3 Diploma in Dance and Business. 2 years later, at 18, Sophie went on to professional musical theatre training at Stella Mann College of Performing Arts, where she trained full time for 3 years. Here is where she landed roles such as Aunt Eller in ‘Oklahoma’ and featured singing roles in each show. In 2021, she got her Degree in Performing Arts graduating with First. Since graduating, Sophie has worked professionally in the industry. Sophie’s jobs include; music videos, assistant choreographer/dancer for Graduate Fashion Week 2021, stand-in Anna for ‘Frozen the Musical’ Promo Shoot, In It Together Festival and multiple entertainment jobs up and down the country. Sophie is very excited to be apart of the Stagecoach Buckingham team and has a strong passion and drive to teach the next generation of talented performers. She looks forward to passing on her knowledge of Musical Theatre and Dance and giving the students an insight into our industry.

Makoto is originally from Japan and started training in classical ballet since 3 years… of age. She came to UK in 2003 and went to Central school of ballet for further training. She’s also trained in ISTD modern, tap and Jazz. She’s worked in various musicals, commercials, films and music videos such as King and I (Leicester Curve, UK and Ireland tour), Hello Dolly (Leicester Curve), Deliveroo, Pokemon Unite, Heineken, Sony, HSBC, Brit Awards, Pampers and There goes our love again (White Lies). Her most recent credit was the Lion King in WestEnd where she was a member of the cast for 6 years. She enjoys teaching and performing and excited to join Stagecoach Performing Arts Buckingham.

Joseph completed his training at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts; graduating with a BA… (Hons) in Musical Theatre. From a young age Joseph has been passionate about performing. His first professional on stage role came at the age of 9, where he played Jackie Henderson in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical, Whistle down the Wind (Aldwych Theatre, West End) Theatre credits include: Danny Zuko, Grease the Musical (Original Cast, Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean Productions), Wickersham Brother, Seussical the Musical (International tour), Emmo, Our House the Musical, (Union Theatre, London), Tony Manero, Saturday Night Fever (Scandanavian Tour), Joe Vegas, Fame – The Musical (UK Tour), Chorus in West End Men (The Vaudeville Theatre, London), Samuel, The Pirates of Penzance (Brookside Theatre, London), Giuseppe, London Premiere cast of The Light in the Piazza, and Glen Guglia, The Wedding Singer (Bernie Grants Arts Centre, London). Joe also has experience with LAMDA tuition and will be taking some of our 1:1 Acting and Musical Theatre LAMDA students.

We are extremely excited to welcome Conner Harling a former Stagecoach student and dance… teacher. Conner attended Stagecoach Windsor as a student for eight years before being accepted onto one of the UK’s leading performing arts courses at Read Dance And Theatre College. Whilst teaching dance for Stagecoach Windsor Conner gained invaluable teaching skills and specifically enjoyed encouraging and giving confidence to each individual student so they were able to achieve their best in dance. Conner has a huge passion for teaching and is excited to share his current knowledge of the performance industry with his students at Stagecoach Buckingham, engaging them in his dance classes which are packed with exciting choreography, energy and creativity. Conner is currently away performing professionally but we hope to see him leading one of our fab workshops soon!
